When our mother was brought into Stanley House, we knew she was in a poor state of health. On the morning of 10th February 2016 a senior Nurse from Stanley House came to assess Mum at home in her bungalow and it was her opinion that Mum should be in the care of professional carers and nurses immediately.
During the following weeks Mum's health and wellbeing improved immensely and soon she was joining in with some of the activities organised by Lynn and Wendy. However, more importantly, Mum's appetite was also improving and soon she began to look more like her old self again.
Although Mum was doing well, her short time at home was interrupted by poor oxygen levels in her blood. After a number of blood transfusions it soon became apparent that to keep repeating the process was a futile exercise. After the last transfusion her health deteriorated until eventually on the morning of 25th August 2016 our Mum passed away.
Thank goodness for all of the staff at Stanley House and for their care, love and devotion. It was always a pleasure to meet and talk with the staff and they made visiting Mum a marvellous experience. Towards the end the staff were extremely helpful and sympathetic and a few also shed tears on her passing.
So in the end, we can never say thank you enough to all the staff at the marvellous care home.
Thank you to everyone.
